Helldorado Bio

“The World’s Loudest, Baddest, Most Bitchin’ Band (Hardest Partying Too…)” started as a simple project between drummer Tommy “Gunn” Scherer and lead vocalist Dust “Drill” Richardson in Spokane, WA in April, 2013. After talking for months about bands, music and shows that shaped who they were, the two decided to form a band that conveyed just that: raw, groove-driven rock with a southern metal edge. Power rock, groove metal, whatever label you decide to place on this band, the goal was to smash any preconceived notions of what a band could be.

Led by the lead guitar of Gabe “The Kidd” Miller and the bass of “Big-Wave” Dave Bridges, the band set their sights high, playing Mayhem Festival on just their 3rd show with Rob Zombie, 5FDP, Mastodon, among others; not a bad way to start out, but by no means the end. Helldorado went to work and, in November of 2013, went into the Amplified Wax studio with James Hill to record their full-length debut album, “Alcohol Fueled Adrenaline.” After returning from NAMM in 2014, the album was released on CD and all digital formats (including iTunes). In March of 2014, Helldorado released “Alcohol Fueled Adrenaline” to a sold-out crowd in Spokane, WA, along with new member, rhythm guitarist, Sam “FNG” Perez, packing the Knitting Factory.

Their single “Talk Shit” was the first video from the album to hit YouTube. The band’s high energy live performance is capitalized by the many hours offstage, making it tight. The Helldorado sound is defined by the band’s trademarked Frankenstein combination of the riff, the groove and those lyrics. They have been described as “throwing Pantera, Alice in Chains, Rob Zombie and Black Label Society” into a blender. Helldorado has been privileged to share the stage with Rob Zombie, 5FDP, Theory of a Deadman, Mastodon, GWAR, Avatar, All That Remains, Soil, just to name a few.

Helldorado’s music is regularly played on Rock 94.5, out of Spokane, as well as many other national radio stations (internet and otherwise). They were also the winners of a nation-wide “fan favorite ” contest to be highlighted in a national magazine publication (Rock N Roll Industries). In 2015, they were honored by having their song “Fade Away” featured in the full-length film, “Thunderstruck 14.” Their sponsors/endorsements include the following: Schecter Guitars, Rock-n-Roll GangStar Apparel, SureFuck Cologne, Kronos Kustoms, Fireball, Dr. Squatch Soap and Sinister Guitar Pics.

On September 1, 2015, Helldorado embarked on their second tour, playing 21 shows in 22 days, across the United States. They are now hard at work on their sophomore effort and follow-up to 2014’s “Alcohol Fueled Adrenaline.”
